Stay & Play "Seedlings"
        (Caregiver & Me)

This class for caregivers and their young forest explorers (ages birth - 8 years) is held at Jaybird Hammock Farm off Old Nassauville.  It is led by Wild Oak Explorer guides.  We believe in a mixed-age environment where the young are learning from the older students as well as the older ones still learning from the younger ones while maintaining their empathy for both.

 

Being in nature encourages healthy minds and bodies, and research shows that regular interaction with nature creates a greater sense of happiness, overall physical health, and well-being.  Each week, the class will feature a welcome song, followed by a short hike, nature exploration, an art-based activity, and an oral story or read aloud.  We will cancel the morning of class for inclement weather.  This day will be replaced with another.

 

Monthly sessions offered on Mondays

Individual day $30.  We must have a minimum of 3 families in order to meet.

 ($25 fee for children under 2 year old.)

​

Class size limited to 10 children per session.
